Welcome to More Than Just Mama!
Hi! I’m Sanja, pronounced San-ya . Not pronounced san-ja, sonya or san-ha. I was born in Yugoslavia, so the letter “J” sounds like the letter “Y”. I’ll never find my name on a key chain 😉 In high school I was like Madonna. I had no last name. My first name was hard enough that no one would even dare try my last name.
I graduated from Cal State University Long Beach. However, beware…. I’m not a writer! My spelinng and grammar: are terrible. Ha…did you catch that joke? Ugh! Okay, so I’m really not funny but I would love to show you my life and interests.
The best way to explain my family is to compare it to the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. If you’ve watched this movie then you know how loud and different European families are. I laughed so hard the entire movie because I could relate to everything. Being Yugoslavian, I was the kid who had the stinky, ethnic lunches at school. Everything is made with Vegeta, you have to eat, eat and eat, yelling and speaking with your hands is normal, apple cider vinegar cures everything, or coffee and a cigarette, etc. I have a hilarious family with fun and crazy traditions.
I married my best friend Cole. He is an amazing man who does not live life in the ordinary but with passion. He definitely keeps me on my toes. He hates to live life inside the box. So, our little family is always on the go with a new adventure on its way. We have a little one. Her name is Brightynn and let me tell you, she is full of sass. She is a bright, feisty two-year old. Between the both of them, I def have my hands full 😉 Get ready to laugh, be inspired, surprised and shocked when you see into the Hatter House.

Our life normally does not look like this picture. See that sweet and innocent looking girl in the middle? Oh how that cute face is deceiving. We call her our sweet and sour patch kid. Just wait, you will get to see what I’m talking about.
That’s me. I normally don’t look like that. Pre-baby yes. Now no. Wish I were that mom that has it all together. My hair is normally in a messy bun and if I put on mascara my hubby thinks we are going out lol.
I love, love, love being a mama and a wifey but, man do I go crazy sometimes. Being a mom is the hardest and best job I have ever had. That’s why caffeine and wine are a couple of my best friends. They help me survive ;P
When I became a mom, I kind of was “just” a mom. It took awhile but I realized I am more than just a mama. I am a wife, sister, best friend, maid, chef, athlete, motivator, teacher, etc.
I’ll be sharing our crazy Hatter life, recipes I enjoy, products I love, inspirational things to watch when you’re feeling down, and struggles I have raising a toddler. I need a little adult interaction in my life other than a two-year old 🙂
So if you’re interested in seeing a little bit of our lives…grab a glass of wine, or a bottle, cuz this is going to be a chaotic ride.
